HTTP hosting
Use the cloud you already pay for as the CMS.
Switchyard reads a domain folder from your preferred file provider or git repository and serves it as a public website. Change a file, and the page changes. There is no proprietary editor.
Bring the storage you prefer
- Dropbox
- OneDrive
- GitHub
- GitLab
- Amazon S3
Creators who live in Dropbox keep the same shared folder their photographer already uses. Teams on GitHub or GitLab review HTML like any other change. Businesses on OneDrive or S3 stay inside the account they already lock down.
A folder named after the site
Each host is a folder. Put index.html at the root for the homepage. Additional pages are extra HTML files. Photos and stylesheets sit next to them. A small redirect file can send /contact somewhere new without code.
Hidden drafts stay unpublished if you prefix a name with an underscore. Public pages are ordinary names you would email as attachments.
Example layout
your-site.com/ index.html about.html look.css product.jpg contact.redirect
What the host does — and does not
Serves pages
GET and HEAD for HTML, images, CSS, and redirects. Fast enough for a marketing site, a catalog, or a studio archive.
Does not run your code
No PHP, no serverless functions, no form backends. If you need an app, keep Switchyard as the public brochure and link out.
